We are delighted to announce that O’Doherty’s Audio Video Productions have teamed up with JD Trailers to relay their visuals to our screens at events across Ireland. O’Doherty’s are experts in their field and we can’t wait to team up to help bring a greater experience to events nationwide. Here is a little bit about O’Doherty’s and what they do.
O’Doherty’s Audio Video Production Ltd is proud to be a family owned business, with three generations that have grown, developed and expanded the company from its beginnings in 1956 to what it is today.
A sixty year history that started from the simple beginnings of one microphone and P.A. system back in 1956, O’Doherty’s grew and expanded the business over the following decades. O’Doherty’s led the way with the latest technology and innovation developments. O’Doherty’s procured one of the first Phillips Colour Cameras in Ireland to record Pope John Paul II’s visit to Ireland in 1979 on behalf of RTE Radio. From the 1980s and onwards, O’Doherty’s were the main televised provider of Irish racing to the racetrack, SIS and At The Races. Alongside with racing, O’Doherty’s did the publicaddress service for many main events in Ireland including the St Patrick’s Day parade, the Carrol’s Irish Open Golf, Fianna Fail Ard Fheis, Motor Racing in the Phoenix Park, Concerts in the National Concert Hall, The Liffey Swim and many more. In the 1990s, O’Doherty’s added to their fleet by building an 8 camera OB truck with the latest technology installed. In 2000 and onwards, O’Doherty’s branched out to public address and visual installations. In 2006, O’Doherty’s purchased a 32 Metre Bronto hoist and since then have added another two hoists to their fleet.
In 2013, following European tender, HRI and AIR awarded a five-year contract for the production of the horseracing pictures to Irish Racing Integrity Services Ltd (IRIS), a joint venture between O’Doherty’s Audio Video Production Ltd and TVM. Under this contract, High Definition (HD) pictures were broadcast for the first time at Fairyhouse Race Course on New Year’s Day 2014 and they have now been rolled out to all 26 racecourses.
Today, O’Doherty’s continue to expand and develop the business in new and exciting directions.
