On Thursday the 15th of October our LED screen set off to an event held at Camlough Lake. The event was organised by local business people from the area and was held to highlight the Wave of Light. This is a special day of pregnancy and infant loss remembrance that is held every year across many parts of the world. People gathered in numbers in Camlough village to walk down to the lake where the celebration took place.
At the lake there was a staging area erected where the people were addressed by those affected of such tragedies and discussed the support available to those whom need it. The catering was supplied by Out and About, ice cream by Timoneys Ice Cream Newry, sound was by Sound Function DJs, “LOVE” sign lighting was from Orla Sloan at Light Alphabet. Also not forgetting the magnificent choir from St Paul’s High School. At the event we provided visuals and also played a short clip of a family whom set up a foundation to help others at such lonely times. Once the clip on the LED screen finished everyone proceeded down to the water’s edge to light a wave of Chinese lanterns which were released slowly into the night sky.
The organisers of the event had this to say “Thank you for coming to our event on the 15th. We are already planning for next year. The response was great in the night and over the weeks prior to the night. We raised a lot of money, 100% of which goes to making the memory boxes.”
